Statistics and Data Analysis
In the core facility Statistics and Data analysis, we do statistical consulting for researchers in the Danish Cancer Institute and external collaborators. This includes planning studies and designing experiments, formal definition of study hypothesis, optimal choice of study design and sample size determination, statistical modeling, and interpretation and presentation of results.
We work in close collaboration with cancer researchers in basic research, epidemiology and the clinic. We have experience with animal experiments, randomized controlled trials, questionnaires, meta-analyses (including Cochrane reviews) and register-based studies.
We have extensive experience in working with registries at Statistics Denmark and Sundhedsdatastyrelsen and have a strong focus on reproducible research.
Our aim is to contribute to excellent cancer research by ensuring that
- Research projects are adequately planned
- Research questions and hypotheses are clearly formulated
- Data analysis matches the research question
- Interpretation of the statistical analysis is accurate
